Machine Learning Engineer
Do you want to be part of facilitating the green transition? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your actions drive meaningful change? Do you enjoy solving hard problems together with ambitious people? If this sounds like you, this could be a perfect match.
Join us to facilitate the green transition
Electrification and the transition to fossil-free energy create fantastic opportunities for us as individuals, as a company, and for society at large. However, it also creates challenges, especially for our energy systems. Ingrid Capacity is an energy tech company founded in 2022, and we are determined to solve some of the hardest challenges that stand in the way of the green transition by leveraging new technology and pioneering software development. We develop and optimize flexible energy assets such as large-scale battery energy storage to store electricity when there is a production surplus and retur it to the system when there is a shortage. This ensures the stability of the grid, increases the uptake of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, and maximizes the utilization of the grid in a cost efficient manner.
Today, Ingrid Capacity is in a rapid growth phase with a historic expansion of energy storage in Sweden, while also expanding internationally. We currently have approximately 200 MW under construction, over 200 MW entering the construction phase, and a total development pipeline of over 4 GW across Europe.
About the role
At Ingrid Capacity, our technology team builds and maintains in-house software for use cases related to our operations including power trading optimization, energy system analysis and operational monitoring and life-time enhancement of our assets
We focus on creating a data-driven culture by building data pipelines and a Business Intelligence layer to provide stakeholders with actionable insights. Our team plays a key role in driving strategic decision-making and overall company success, and we work closely together to ensure a smooth transition of ideas from concept to reality. We strive to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone’s voice is valued and believe in empowering our team members to make a real impact.
What you’ll do
As an ML Engineer, you'll be a key player in building and implementing our ML products and software infrastructure from the ground up. This includes data science on energy forecasts, prices, asset behavior and designing and and implementing efficient and scalable solutions for model training, deployment, monitoring, and management.
The role is flexible and can be tailored towards more software engineering or statistics/ML/Data science depending on skills and interest
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Analysing and building ML models to e.g., forecast need for reserve capacities in the Nordics, future bottlenecks in the electricity system, maintenance need of assets
- Deploying both ML and other models (e.g., power systems simulations, optimization) to production infrastructure
- Designing and Implementing a Robust MLOps Infrastructure - Tailor the infrastructure to our specific needs and objectives, ensuring it's built for scalability and efficiency.
- Automating the Machine Learning Lifecycle: Develop and maintain automated pipelines for training, testing, deployment, and monitoring of machine learning models, such as Vertex AI.
- Ensuring Transparency and Performance: Implement best practices for version control, model reproducibility, and experiment tracking. Monitor model performance and health in production, implementing automated alerting and anomaly detection mechanisms.
- Support on dashboard creation and automation to deliver insights to rest of organization and democratise access to data
- Support on data platform architecture and infrastructure
- Contribute to use case development and digital strategy / roadmap for future development
Who you are
Are you a passionate individual with a strong foundation in technology and a desire to make a difference? We're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to make a real impact, and accelerate the green shift.
Here's what will set you up for success:
- Technical Skills: Experience in software engineering, machine learning, DevOps, and cloud computing and knowledge of Python, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (experience with various tools is a bonus!).
- Results-Oriented Mindset: You're someone who takes ownership, makes sound decisions, and enjoys seeing projects through to completion.
- Collaborative: We value a collaborative and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to take ownership and make independent decisions while working effectively with others.
- Learning Agility: The ML landscape is constantly evolving, and we value your ability to stay up-to-date and embrace new technologies.
A degree in computer science, data science, or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates. We're more interested in your passion, skills, and drive to make a difference!
