Senior BESS Asset Manager
Do you have proven asset management experience in renewable energy — preferably BESS — and a strong data-driven mindset?
We’re looking for a Senior BESS Asset Manager to help develop and run scalable processes across our growing portfolio of grid-scale battery energy storage systems.
This role sits at the interface between technical performance management and data-driven analytics. You will own O&M and service agreement relationships while building deep know-how about BESS performance — tracking, analyzing and continuously improving how our assets operate across the portfolio.
You will report directly to the Head of Asset Management and play a key role in scaling one of Europe’s leading BESS portfolios. Expect occasional travel within Sweden and the Nordics for site visits.
Asset Management at Ingrid
The Asset Management team is responsible for the technical and commercial operations of assets once they are constructed and enter the operations phase. This includes overseeing O&M service providers, warranty and claims management, technical and commercial performance monitoring, as well as reporting to investors and managing stakeholders.
What we offer
At Ingrid, we are not just employees; we are pioneers, visionaries, and catalysts for change. We are at the forefront of the global energy transition, dedicated to shaping the future of power generation. Our company is more than a workplace; it is a platform for innovation, where we dare to push boundaries and turn bold ideas into reality. We work with deep knowledge, restless curiosity, and a shared drive to solve what matters most. If it makes the grid smarter, faster, or more flexible, we’re already working on it.
We firmly believe that the foundation of any successful company lies in its culture. Our culture centers around our core values: Bold impact – Curious grit – Inspiring Collaboration. At Ingrid, we understand that building a thriving organisation demands more than just technology and innovation; it requires a company culture firmly rooted in trust, growth, and the ability to learn from mistakes. We believe that skills can be nurtured in a variety of contexts, starting from within oneself and growing together with people we trust. That’s why we put energy into not just work, but wellbeing and joy as well. From team workouts to social activities, we make sure there’s space to connect, recharge, and thrive together.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Technical Performance Monitoring & BESS Expertise
Monitor and deeply analyze BESS technical performance including availability, efficiency, state of health (SOH), round-trip efficiency (RTE), fault patterns and maintenance KPIs through SCADA data, alarms and telemetry. Build and maintain genuine expert knowledge about battery system behavior across the portfolio.
Initiate and lead root-cause analyses with OEM suppliers. Work proactively to minimize downtime and optimize performance over the asset lifetime, including spare part management and warranty claim follow-up.
Data-Driven Asset Management
Build and own our data-driven asset management capabilities. Develop and implement best-practice, future-proof processes for technical and commercial monitoring, performance optimization, benchmarking and reporting across the current and future fleet.
Identify underperformance and improvement opportunities through data insights. Collaborate with internal tech and engineering teams to integrate new data sources and analytical tools, enhancing predictive maintenance and performance optimization. Drive long-term digitalization and automation of the AM function.
O&M and Service Agreement Management
Own and manage O&M and service agreements across the portfolio. Manage scope, SLAs, warranties, performance guarantees, insurance and commercial terms. Drive supplier accountability by enforcing contractual remedies (e.g. LDs, corrective actions) when performance deviates from agreed levels.
Maintenance Planning & Operational Readiness
Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with internal operations and external service providers, minimizing downtime and revenue loss while ensuring compliance with safety, grid and HSE requirements.
Commercial Performance & Financial Oversight
Track and report on revenue generation, cost drivers and P&L performance across assets. Oversee budgeting and financial reporting. Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with the trading and optimisation team to ensure optimal conditions and consistent information exchange for asset optimisation, linking technical performance to commercial outcomes.
Scalable Processes & Reporting
Design, document and continuously improve repeatable processes, templates and routines (e.g. incident handling, RCA, change management, supplier follow-up) so that O&M and contract management can scale across multiple sites and countries.
Regularly prepare and present clear, data-driven performance reports on contract performance, asset health and key risks for Ingrid’s management team and co-investors. Work cross-functionally to ensure knowledge from the operational phase flows into the broader organisation.
Your work experience and skills:
5–8+ years of relevant experience in asset management, operations, performance engineering or commercial analytics within the energy or infrastructure sector.
Proven experience with grid-connected assets — ideally BESS or renewables (wind/solar) — is essential
Experience commissioning and transitioning assets from construction to operations is highly valuable, as is familiarity with European power markets and ancillary services.
University degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage. Fluent in English (written and verbal); Swedish or Finnish is a plus.
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of battery storage technologies, grid integration, energy management systems and BESS-specific performance metrics (availability, SOH, RTE, cycling). Comfortable working with data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), Power BI, Python or similar platforms. Experience with asset performance and SCADA platforms (e.g. Fluence Nispera, Power Factors or similar) is a strong advantage.
Commercial & Analytical Skills
Strong grasp of commercial contracts including service agreements, availability guarantees and performance warranties. Proven track record of establishing scalable processes across multiple sites. Ability to link technical performance to commercial outcomes and provide actionable recommendations. Sound understanding of cost structures, OPEX budgeting and financial modeling.
Personal Qualities
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment. Strong communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to present clearly to investors and senior stakeholders. Collaborative team player who can also work independently and take full ownership.
