Business controller
About us
Ingrid was born out of a simple belief: the energy transition must move faster and work smarter. We're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition — pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving the problems that matter most.
The INtelligent GRID of tomorrow needs to absorb and release more power. We develop, build and operate high-performance batteries — the lungs of modern energy infrastructure — enabling a more flexible and resilient energy supply across Europe. With 500 MW already deployed across the Nordics and rapid expansion into continental Europe, we manage, optimize and trade both our own assets and those of third parties through our sophisticated tech platform, making every battery — and the entire grid — stronger.
About the role
As we scale our portfolio and enter new markets, finance plays a central role in steering the business and supporting our investors and partners with clear, reliable reporting.
We're looking for a Business Controller to join our finance team and take ownership of how we measure, report and communicate financial performance. You'll sit at the intersection of operations, strategy and finance — working across teams to keep us on track against budget. The role also requires a confidence in terms of external stakeholder management and reporting - assuring trust. This is a hands-on role where you'll both build and run: from improving how we work today to laying the foundations for how we operate tomorrow.
If you're someone who enjoys making sense of complexity, takes pride in clear and accurate reporting, and likes the challenge of building robust processes in a growing company — this role is for you.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Financial analysis, reporting and forecasting.
Own our management reporting package and take it to the next level.
Responsible for monthly reporting on financial performance to customers and external partners, key point of contact for questions on monthly reports.
Act as a sparring partner with department heads and help them understand and steer their financial performance towards budget.
Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and targets.
Monitor revenue and expenditure and prepare budget and cash forecasts.
Actively participate in budget and business planning processes to ensure targets are met.
Liaise with other departments to improve processes and achieve desired results.
Responsible for corporate structure documentation and involved in financial due diligence, capital raising and other finance related tasks.
Continuous work on streamlining, such as developing structured templates, automation work and developing processes for both the finance team and the broader organization.
Establishing and structuring reporting flows.
Your work experience:
5-10 years' experience in finance, such as accounting, auditing and/or financial or business controlling.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
Highly proficient in Excel.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial information.
Very good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
In addition, the following is highly meritorious:
Experience from working in a listed company with public reporting packages
Experience in consolidation and IFRS adjustments.
Experience with BI systems.
Your personal skills
In addition to relevant work experience, we’re looking for someone with the right personal skills and motivation. Skills we evaluate for this role include:
Pro-activeness with a proven ability to work independently: Self-motivated who takes initiative to drive projects forward and delivers results independently.
Communication skills: You are a highly communicative individual, able to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and external partners. Ability to explain complex issues in an adapted way to the audience.
Growth mindset: Development and learning are important to you, and you'll embrace the ever-changing needs of a fast-growing company.
Team player: You thrive in a collaborative environment, working seamlessly with colleagues and management to achieve common goals. With an unpretentious attitude and excellent communication skills, you enjoy working with people at all levels.
Business and analytical skills: You are able to gather and analyze large amounts of information, identifying patterns and trends. Your businesslike and structured approach delivers good results within deadlines.
