Head of Development Germany
About us
Ingrid was born out of a simple belief: the energy transition must move faster and work smarter. We're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition — pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving the problems that matter most.
The INtelligent GRID of tomorrow needs to absorb and release more power. We develop, build and operate high-performance batteries — the lungs of modern energy infrastructure — enabling a more flexible and resilient energy supply across Europe. With 500 MW already deployed across the Nordics and rapid expansion into continental Europe, we manage, optimise and trade both our own assets and those of third parties through our sophisticated tech platform, making every battery — and the entire grid — stronger.
About the role
How often do you get to build a country market from the ground up — with a proven platform, deployed capital and 500 MW of operating track record behind you?
As Head of Development Germany, you'll lead Ingrid's expansion into one of Europe's most dynamic battery storage markets. This is a founder-style mandate: you start hands-on, originating projects and building partnerships yourself, and grow a local team around you as the pipeline scales. You own the German market — from strategy to individual deals — with the full support of our Business Strategy and EPC teams in Stockholm.
The role is based in Germany — preferably Berlin or Munich, alternatively Hamburg or Frankfurt but it is up to you how easy it is to commute — with frequent travel within Germany and occasional visits to our Stockholm headquarters.
What you'll do
You'll grow Ingrid's Ready-to-Build pipeline in Germany through greenfield origination, project acquisitions and strategic partnerships — leveraging your network of DSOs, TSOs, landowners, local authorities and developers, and leading M&A discussions including commercial due diligence.
You'll own the critical project elements end-to-end — permitting, land acquisition, grid connection and route to market, including how site selection shapes revenue potential under Ingrid's dispatch model (FCR/aFRR exposure, grid connection quality). You'll drive projects from first contact through to Ready-to-Build and financial close, working closely with the Stockholm teams before handing over to construction. And as the pipeline grows, you'll build and lead the team that takes the market to the next level.
Your work experience:
10+ years in renewable energy, infrastructure or energy transition project development, with direct experience of permitting and grid connection processes in Germany
A demonstrated network with German DSOs, TSOs and local authorities
Commercial acumen to assess project economics and risk — you don't need to build the financial model yourself, but you can read one and know when a deal doesn't work
Experience structuring or negotiating project acquisitions (M&A) is a strong plus
Fluent in German and English, written and spoken
University degree in engineering, finance, business, management or a related field
Your personal skills
You're a skilled negotiator with a business mindset who thrives in a fast-paced, low-structure environment.
Relationship builder for the long term — you open doors naturally and turn first meetings into lasting partnerships
Owner, not order-taker — you set your own direction, take decisions without close oversight, and deliver on the targets you've committed to
Bridge builder — equally comfortable working independently in the German market and coordinating across functions with colleagues in Stockholm
