Full-stack Software Engineer
About us
Ingrid was born out of a simple belief: the energy transition must move faster and work smarter. We're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition — pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving the problems that matter most.
The INtelligent GRID of tomorrow needs to absorb and release more power. We develop, build and operate high-performance batteries — the lungs of modern energy infrastructure — enabling a more flexible and resilient energy supply across Europe. With 500 MW already deployed across the Nordics and rapid expansion into continental Europe, we manage, optimise and trade both our own assets and those of third parties through our sophisticated tech platform, making every battery — and the entire grid — stronger.
About the role
Software and smart solutions are at the core of how we tackle the toughest bottlenecks in the power system. Our Ingrid Technology team builds and maintains the platform that powers real-time trading decisions, grid balancing, asset optimisation, and the data pipelines that keep our operations sharp. The systems we build run at scale, interact with live energy markets, and directly influence the stability of the grid.
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join the Platforms team - a group that owns the Cloud, Data, and Applications platforms. You'll work across the full stack with the only limit being your own curiosity and ambition.
This is a hands-on engineering role in a fast-moving environment. You'll have real ownership over what you build, collaborate closely with colleagues across trading, market intelligence, and asset operations. You’ll deploy often and see your impact quickly.
What you'll do
Apply your skills to one of our key domains. Optimization & Trade, Delivery & Steering, or the Partner Apply your skills to one of our key domains. Optimization & Trade, Delivery & Steering, or the Partner Experience Platform – and grow with it as we scale.
Design, build and maintain production-grade services across the stack. Backend in Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLModel/SQLAlchemy) and frontend in TypeScript, React and Node.js – deployed as containerised microservices in the cloud, backed by PostgreSQL, Redis and BigQuery.
Build the interfaces where the platform meets its users. Traders, asset operators and partners act on what you build – a well-structured UI on live data is as much part of the craft as the service behind it.
Contribute to API design, architecture and the tech roadmap. RESTful and event-driven patterns, with security, auth and observability built in from the start – not as an afterthought.
Your background
Solid Python experience. Comfort building production services with modern tooling – FastAPI or equivalent, type-safe patterns with Pydantic or similar.
Frontend experience in TypeScript/React for both external end-users and internal tooling.
Cloud platform experience in GCP or other with a curiosity to learn. An understanding of CI/CD, containerisation (Docker), and how services are deployed and monitored in production.
Experience with the energy sector is a bonus, but not required. We'll get you up to speed on the domain.
AI-native and genuinely keen on modern AI tooling, using it to sharpen your own workflow and helping colleagues get the most out of theirs.
Your personal skills
In addition to your qualifications we believe that below skills will make you a star in the Ingrid Tech team:
Solution-oriented with ability to focus on finding practical solutions balancing speed and technical debt effectively.
Curious and a natural inclination to explore new technologies, methodologies, and approaches, driving continuous improvement; actively seizing opportunities and taking initiative.
Flexible in fast-paced start-up environment and willingness to test ideas, fail fast and take on new tasks when needed.
Why join us?
At Ingrid, we're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition — pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving what matters most. Our culture is built on Bold Impact · Curious Grit · Inspiring Collaboration. We believe a thriving organisation runs on trust, growth, and learning from mistakes — and that wellbeing matters as much as work. From lunch & learns to social activities, we make space to connect, recharge, and thrive together.
Next step
We’ll make selections on an ongoing basis and finalise the recruitment as soon as we’ve found the perfect match. This process will run over summer vacations and we will keep everyone involved updated on our expected timeline.
We look forward to hearing from you!
