Interim CTO
About us
Ingrid was born out of a simple belief: the energy transition must move faster and work smarter. We're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition — pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving the problems that matter most.
The grid of tomorrow needs to absorb and release more power. We develop, build and operate high-performance batteries — the lungs of modern energy infrastructure — enabling a more flexible and resilient energy supply across Europe. With 500 MW already deployed across the Nordics and rapid expansion into continental Europe, we manage, optimise and trade both our own assets and those of third parties through our sophisticated tech platform, making every battery — and the entire grid — stronger.
About the role
As our CTO is preparing for parental leave, this is an interim position spanning 6 months.
We're looking for an interim technology leader to own and accelerate the scaling journey of our platform and product: driving continuous shipping, owning and delivering on the roadmap, and keeping our trading systems running at full speed.
The mandate runs on two tracks — maximising the value we extract from batteries and renewables across day-ahead, intraday, and ancillary services, while building the technology for a leading flexibility platform in Europe: standardised asset integration, robust grid data, and the interfaces that let third-party asset owners trust us with their capacity. You'll lead a team of tech leaders across our highly skilled organisation, aiming to push the boundaries of what's possible in trading technology! This is a pivotal moment for us — we're growing fast, going from a current team of 20 into a much larger organisation during the term, and this role will be central to shaping that growth.
What you'll do
Lead the ML, Optimisation, Platforms & Product teams — feature development and asset onboarding on our trading platform.
Own delivery on the current roadmap; iterate and reprioritise with the team and internal/external stakeholders.
Drive and decide development trade-offs based on business priorities.
Lead people management across the teams and onboard new team members. Coach and develop the team leads, building their skills as they grow into scaling leaders themselves.
Translate technical decisions between the teams, company leadership, the board, and external stakeholders.
Support the setup and evolution of processes to fit a scaling business.
Translate company vision and strategy into direction that keeps the team motivated and aligned.
What we're looking for
Senior experience leading technical teams, ideally from a scale-up environment.
Experience from a high-growth/scaleup environment.
Experience driving an analytics- or ML-driven product.
Experience in live operating systems with continuous monitoring.
Strong stakeholder management, internally and externally — ideally including regulators and investors.
Ideally, but not required
Knowledge of power markets and trading algorithms.
Optimisation and machine learning applied to live production systems.
Experience in our stack: GCP, Python, Airflow, TypeScript, microservices on a serverless architecture.
Your personal skills
To thrive at Ingrid, you’ll need right experience but also the personal skills. We are a pretty small company but growing quickly which means that things move fast and change even faster. Some days are a bit chaotic, but it is thrilling, fun and very challenging (in a good way). Being a culture fit at Ingrid means that you:
Act rather than wait to be told what to prioritise.
Can handle strategic discussions in management, managing investors as well as operational discussions regarding our architecture.
You build the skills of the leaders around you as much as you deliver yourself.
Thrive on ambiguity and fast growth.
Why join us?
At Ingrid, we're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition — pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving what matters most. Our culture is built on Bold Impact · Curious Grit · Inspiring Collaboration. We believe a thriving organisation runs on trust, growth, and learning from mistakes — and that wellbeing matters as much as work. From lunch & learns to social activities, we make space to connect, recharge, and thrive together.
